    Crud?

I can'y find any spots that bind or grind on teh way back... on teh way FORWARD there ios a tendancy for it to not fully turn the bot head and lock all the way forward if I ride it real slowly forward, but it locks all the way forward it let fly forward. I actually have everything fully coated in Break free CLP EXCEPT in the gas system, which I run totally dry. I've always shot the gun on the "1" setting, and no buffer has been insalled. The hole that goes through the gas chamber ino the barrell looks to be three smaller holes in a larger hole, I'm assuming this is normal. THere is

    Crud?

When I very first got my SAIGA it would shoot any 2 3/4 shell you put into it, even the lightest of skeet or trap loads. I've noticed, however, that as time goes on it's getting more and more picky about the loads it likes, seeming to only want medium or high brass stuff. My first initial thought was there must be some sort of build of of lead/leading, wadding, plastic, or in shoirt, some sort of crud in thegas systemn somewhere so that it is inhibiting the gas system. I dis-assembled the bolt, and using a pick, toothbrush and elad remover, cleaned the bolt pieces, barrel, gas port and gas cha
  4. Yes, that si a side rail mount made by promag. It is high rise to allow the use of the iron sights should the opric fail, go dead, break, etc etc etc
  5. no fitting required! Simply removed the screw from the old one, pulle dit out, put the new handguard on, re-installed the screw, adn I was done! very easy adn smooth, though the handguard was a nice $60 ballpark addition. Move the red dot forward "bvamp" ?? Why? I shoot with both eyes open, as red dots are meant to eb used... isn;t it better this way, or am I confused? I was always taught to use the red dot, but keep both eyes open.
  6. Here's some pics, on with the stock folded and one with the stock fixed, of my new and updated SAIGA-12. I've installed a new Russian made forearm with a rail and a Foregrip, a side mount with a red dot. I may install a weapon light later, probably ewither surefire or streamlight. Hope evryone likes it! Zombie deterrent!
  7. Does anybody know of a reliable, well priced and in stock source for Source for Saiaga-12 eight round mags? Being able to get it within two weeks is also a must. The mags seem to be scarce, or priced well over $100 most places... Seems these used to be available for like $89 at one time...or am I wrong? I'm trying to find some of these for a couple of good customers and am not having much luck, thought I'd check with you guys. LMK, thanks!
  8. odd... mine functions 100% with even the lightest skeet loads!
  9. The handguards offerd here; http://www.saiga-12.com/proddetail.asp?pro...TACTICAL-FOREND I see the sling swivel is on the right hand side, which is nice for hanging the shotgun at the ready. The bottom has a rail, good for attaching whatever you'd like. However, on ym saiga, the screw is what holds the handguard in palcec, and it goes through the sling swivel. With the sling swivel on the side, does the screw hold it on there, or Is there still a screw on the bottom of this type of handguard to hold it on, or is it held on another way?
  10. For a carry gun, two things are most important; RELIABILITY If a gun isn't reliable, why bank your life on it? ABILITY TO CARRY EASY, EVERY DAY If you can;t carry it comfortably every day, you'll stop carrying it, breaking the first rule of a guun fight. [have a gun] With these two things in mind, coupled with my eperience as a guun salesman in the shop, I recomend the KAHR P9 as a semi-auto and the S&W 642 as a revovler. HTH~
  11. We've had them come into our shop. IMO, it's junk, and design backwards.

    My Saiga-12

This one origonally came from Atlanticfirearms.com, and they get them from redjacket as I understand it. Feeds anything you put in it and shoots like a dream, as any kalashnikov should! The perfect partner to my AK-74's, Makarov's and TT-33's! Enjoy! I think perhaps later on I'll try to do a similar conversion to it like Cobra and dinzag!!!
  13. Yuo should look up the SP2 weapon system... it's beter yet, and uses 38 super!
  14. Here's is a picture of a Soviet Trooper in the Afghan war. You can plainly seethe modified chest rig. HTH~ http://www.afghanwar.spb.ru/41/mfoto23.htm
  15. I am some what confused. If your S-12 have the factory threaded choked, does this unit simply screw on? or not?
