What the best 12 gauge
Bigfunkytown replied to Vultite's topic in Other Weapons - SHOTGUNS (non-AK based)
Daddy onwed mossbergs, so thats what I've always gone for. My current 500A exstended magazine pump weapon is set up with a Knoxx tactical recoil reduction stock, with a 96 lumin flash light controled by presure switch. Thing is smooth except for the safety as it is rather stiff. -

I don't care who's it is. I'm now drolling. That collecting is so envigorating. -

Upgrade or replace?
Bigfunkytown replied to Elkhound's topic in Other Weapons - SHOTGUNS (non-AK based)
Keep that mossy 500. Mine is m night time heavy defense weapon when things go bump in the night. And since critters have seen me and my flash light tipped big paddle out at night, I don't hear so many bumps. -
Didn't have much time to shoot today. Only ran 65 rounds through it. Found the trigger pull to be a lot longer than the last Glock 30/21 that I've owned, but it was very very accurate right out the box. That is not the part that impressed me most........ my 14yr old son was with me and wanted to try his hand at it. I very rearly let him or any of my children shoot, but I do so it'll take the facination out and add the education into firearms handeling. Anyway, I was surprised at how well my son was able to adapt and control his shot placement. ...... He could not do this same thing with any of

As much as I want one, Cheaper Than Dirt in Fort Worth, Texas has two Saiga-12's going for $550 and $575 ........ unconverted. Starting to get a lil rich for my modest means.

I purchased a Sigma 9VE. I've found that on my first trip to the range that it eats every type of ammunition I feed it. I ran about two hundred rounds thrugh it. One thing I noticed was that it shot lower that its aim point. I had my Walther P-1 out with me and found that it is very much more accurate. There is not anything wrong with the sigma, after all its a $300 firearm. If I keep it, I'm going to update the sights to night sights.

I had one of these years ago. Wish I'd kept that thing. Can't find them now.

Ahh the Lamma .45 ACP. That was my first .45! It was a Lamma IX. Oh the flame that used to issue forth from that weapon! That was the one that hooked me on the .45

Seems I am in good company here. And thanks for your comments! It'll be a while before I deck it out or anything as I also have a PT1911 on order too. As to the Novac issue: About three years ago, I was going to buy a RIA .45 , but the guy at the sporting goods store discouraged me from doing so. He was talking about how bad the mags were and that I'd end up spending the money I was saving on magazines. Interestingly enougth I went back buy thay store and they don't even sell hand guns any more!- Next I was on another forum were they were talking about Rocks and the magazine issue cam

Just came back from the range. Went to Winchesters indoor range here in Ft. Worth. Purchased a Pro Mag 8 rnd magazine to augment my Novac that came with the weapon just in case the stories about the Novacs were true. Also purchased 200 rnds .45ACP Wolf FMJ 230 GRN ammunition to run through the weapon. Of that ammo, I only got a chance to fire 100 rounds through the firearm. Distance to the target was 21 ft. 1. The were no FTF's to report. Both magazines feed ammo reliably both when just sweezing of sigle shots or rapid firing the weapon. I did notice that the froor plate in the Pro Mag got
