Ned- I have been to Cheaper than dirt's retail store and they sell a muzzle brake for the mini 14 that looks like it will fit the saiga with very little modification. I have not tried it yet but I intend to when I have $20 bucks extra. I bought a new stock instead. I will by a recoil buffer after that. Too cool of an idea not to try!

I will never understand cal. In my experience with pump action .22 they can be fired faster than a semi auto. Liberals will never understand that the framers of the constitution WANTED a well armed public.

I have thought about cheetah but i won't buy anything from zimbabwe for political reasons. My aim is not good enough to tell any real difference in any ammo i have tried. Wolf is cheap and Cheaper Than Dirt is just down the road. A 20 round box is $1.59 at the retail store.

I have never figured out how to clean it. It should get "Cleaned" when you clean the gas tube and barrel with out any real extra work. I have never read about a failure that involved a dirty gas tube.

It can be done including buying the gun for around $300. It is not as hard as it looks and it was fun.

My Topic My Opinion. Muslims are no more credible than christians. Like most major religions its practitioners are only good when people are watching. Muslim shopkeepers will sell porn and beer in direct violation of the teachings of the Koran. Christian and jewish shopkeepers do the same thing. Credibility is an individual trait not a group trait. That and $6 will get you a grand latte at Starbucks. I will order a new stock and then post a pic.

My rifle had two screws on top and one on the bottom. One of the top screw is under the spring assembly.

I can answer some fo your questions. A hardwood stock should be as durable as the synthetic. You should buy saiga wood stocks (if available) and not AK stocks. AK stocks will not fit without doing a pistol grip conversion on your rifle. A recoil pad is easy to add. A standard AK mag will not fit your rifle without either modifying the mag or your rifle. Make sure that you buy saiga mags. I have no idea about the sights. Before converting your rifle you should review the legal issues. This site is an invaluable reference tool.

I had the same problem. The whole mount broke when I tried to fix it. I replaced the inner piece with a body panel clip from Autozone and it works great!
