  1. Looks realy good! I understand that you took the BHO out. If so what do you plan on doing with it? There have been several posts here by members looking to buy one. I think I may have discarded the parts already - if I still have them I would cut them loose for the cost of shipping charges. Dont flood me with emails on this please as I am pretty sure I got rid of the left over conversion parts. I will post back in this thread if I still have them.
  2. Started off on my own with the basic conversion...US stock, Tapco G2 FCG, US Galil style PG Took about 1 hour I decided I wanted a little more ofcourse...so I ground off the stock mag release rivets and sent it off to my local gunsmith (Randy Kline @ Sledgehammer Arms Works) I hand him mill out the trunnion lugs to accept unmodified AK74 mags, weld up some (not all) of the extra holes, rivet in an AK74 trigger gaurd/mag release I had laying around and install a Dinzag bullet guide. After that work was done a AK74 mag with a ROBARM follower would fit/feed 30 rounds no problems!
  3. I'd sell them - I have heard that there is quite a market for such mags. Use the funds to buy more mags like Orlites or AK74 mags and Robarms followers. I think you could get around $50 for those Chinese mags last I heard.
  4. Does anybody know if the Bulgarian 74 FSB with threads that KVAR sells will fit on the S223? Its $75 for the FSB (which is highway robbery...) but I dont know how well it will fit. I'd hate to go through the hassle of ordering, shipping, waiting, testing, returning; etc to find out if it will work or not
  5. I am interested in using the East German bake lite 5.45 mags with the Robarms .223 follower - will either one of the proposed bullet guides work with this combination? My understanding is the East German bake lite mags require a bullet guide that has a 'crown' in the middle of the guide. My mags will be unmodified other than the .223 follower, I am paying a gunsmith to relieve the trunnion 'lugs' to allow for the DDR mags to seat properly with out modifications.

Cool! What is the OD of the barrel under the FS and under the GB for the RAA .223 barrel? Hope youfeel better soon!
  7. Just got my RAA .223 the other day from On Point Firearms ($242 delivered + $10 for the FFL) - my first SAIGA and of course, my first conversion I've been reading these forums for months now and following along with everyones projects so it was a pretty easy thing to do the first time. The RAA .223 I have did have a hole in the trunnion as well as the PG hole and single hook trigger hole. Of course all I had to do was carefully remove three rivets holding the plate on the receiver and break the spot weld on the trigger guard. Then I put everything together with a Warsaw pact length st
