  1. Hey everyone, well my Ironwood Designs Saiga 12 furniture came in, and it looks great, but once I checked it out, I realized that I am going to need some special hardware to attach the upper and lower handguard pieces. I have been looking around on kvar, and I'm seeing a bunch of hardware that looks like it may be the right one, but I'm not really sure what exactly I should be ordering... Anyone that has installed Ironwood Wood Furniture on their Saiga 12 that could provide me a link to the hardware I need to buy to install it? It would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
  2. I'd gladly pay $50 - $60 for them, for 10 rounders. Any higher than $60 and I'd opt for plastic mags. You would sell a ton of them if you can keep them under $60. Although, if they were titanium *hint hint*, I would pay $100.

    Slam Fire??

Did you get oil in your firing pin assembly? Sounds like either a weak firing pin spring, a broken firing pin, or some oil in the firing pin assembly that is collecting crud and keeping the firing pin from moving back in after firing. I would definitely take the firing pin out of the bolt and check it all carefully for build up, or breakage. Another possibility, is that you didn't seat the primer deep enough in the primer pocket, primer should be .05 under the surface of the primer pocket rim. I've never reloaded shotgun shells, but I assume it follows the same primer depth rules as re
  4. Didn't want to start a whole new thread for this question, so I'll post it here... What kind of drill bit do I need to drill this steel? Will standard titanium nitride coated steel bits work? Or do I need to use something like Cobalt bits or diamond tipped bits?
  5. You own 21 Saiga 12s?! Holy crap! Guess I'll go with 4 ports at 5/64" for both guns. Thanks guys
  6. I received the 2 converted Saigas that I ordered a month ago or so, and after checking the gas ports, both were 4 unblocked port guns, so I was hopeful that they would cycle the federal bulk I had bought. After hitting the range 2 days ago, and shooting 30 slugs and 50 federal target loads, I found that both guns cycled slugs fine on 1, but neither gun would cycle federal low brass target loads on 2 (short stroking). Some rounds with the low brass loads didn't even seem to move the bolt back more than an inch, other rounds it would go back about halfway, and other rounds would almost fully ext
  7. Nice! Just ordered it. Thanks bud, you're the man.
  8. Hey all, in a few of the picture threads I've seen a handguard that looks like the stock handguard, only with a lower rail so a vertical grip/flashlight can be attached. I've been searching the different online shops like CSS, etc. and cant seem to find that grip in stock anywhere. I found it at one shop, said it was a russian made handguard, but was out of stock. Picture of the stock I'm looking for below. Anyone know where I can find this handguard in stock? Thanks in advance.
  9. Does the AK stock fit the converted Saiga 12? I see that Rhineland has an SVD stock for AK stamped receivers, I just don't know if Saigas can take AK buttstocks with little to no modification. I'm not as worried about finding the forend stock, they seem easy enough to find fitted for the Saiga, the only problem is matching the wood. So I'm thinking the SVD buttstock for AK stamped receiver in the bottom of the page linked below: http://www.troupsystems.com/akparts.htm And ordering the Forend stock from the Saiga Scout stock set in the link below: http://www.troupsystems.com
  10. Hey everyone, I'm just getting into the Saiga game... I have 2 converted Saiga 12s on the way from Atlantic Firearms. One of them I want to look like a standard AK47, so I ordered wood stocks from Ironwood. The other Saiga however, I want to look like an SVD/Dragunov, or Saiganov as I see people calling it. The problem is, I cant seem to find wood SVD/Dragunov stocks that would fit the Saiga 12. Would anyone happen to know where I can find some SVD type wood stocks that would fit the Saiga 12 with very little filing/cutting/fitting? Doees the stock have to be made especially for the Saiga
  11. Just ordered 2 from Atlantic Firearms myself. Shipped 4 days after ordering.
