I'm on the Saiga forums. I probably like firearms.
  1. It's a pretty nice setup. I find it much more conducive to good form than traditional vertical grips. Makes blazing through magazines super EZ.
  2. I just purchased a Benelli Supernova Tactical and I'm looking at magazine extensions. Does anybody know how important a barrel clamp would be if I purchased a +2 extension? I would rather save the money if I can, but I would prefer not to damage my weapon either.
  3. no 9mm, .45, etc to be found in either Oklahoma or Wisconsin. heck I'm having a rough time finding good shells for my s12. Frankly, I've despaired of shooting my 9mm any time in the next year or so
  4. In a couple weeks I'm going to be PCS'ing to Scott AFB and I'm wondering if anyone knows of any good shotgun ranges nearby. Right now I live in Oklahoma City and I've been spoiled due to the fact that there is an unstaffed range run by the DNR not far from where I live. Right now I'm thinking that a MO unstaffed range would be ideal, I just don't know if any of them are remotely close to Scott. Also, I'm willing to drive forty minutes or so if need be. Thanks
  5. Does anyone know if the 1919 can accept ambidextrous/left-handed magazine releases or safety selectors? I like the design overall, but classic m16 controls aren't particularly friendly to left handed shooters.
  6. Welcome to the party. I hope you enjoy tinkering with your weapon, it's a never ending process around here. Hope you like your new toy. Now go forth shoot trap, skeet, and whatever else makes you happy.
  7. Crikey, I would be happy if I could find factory 8's for a good price. If they work as well as factory five's I would be thrilled.
  8. Sounds right, the SGM magazines were mounting crazy high. I'm not sure though if it's the mag themselves that's the problem or a combination of the mags and the magwell. Right now I'm trying out different manufacturers with no magwell and seeing what happens. So far factory magazines are awesome and promags are terrible (didn't feed worth a darn), but that's not real surprising.
  9. Tried rounding off the edge and go nothing, same jam as before. Switched to my factory mag (I had been using SGM 12 rounders with a magwell) and it ran perfectly. I'm going to continue to test, but for the time being I will continue to use the factory (Miracle) magazine.
  10. I was cruising the forums and I found these pictures. All the posters agreed that the best way to fix this is to file down the extractor port in the chamber and break the sharp edge. Before I take a file to my weapon I just wanted to ask what the potential risk to my weapon is? I would rather not turn my Saiga into a paperweight. Also, anyone have any helpful tips for filing this down? Thanks
  11. My First S-12. It's a little rough around the edges and it's HEAVY, but I like it. It's a real kick shooting trap with it. Silly Over-Unders.
  12. hmmm, seems the problem is simply Estate shells. I tried running Winchester X-Speed and it ran like a champ. Thanks for the help.
  13. I've been cruising these forums for a while and they've been a huge help in customizing my saiga. I've managed to open up gas ports, change out parts, modify magazines etc. But now I have two problems I can't seem to find answers for. 1. I have a JT magwell installed, but I still have to rock my magazines a little bit to get them to lock. Not quite sure how to fix that. 2. With Estate shells, I've had several failures to feed. Where a shell was stripped off the magazine but it jammed onto the upper lip of the chamber. Anyone else had similar issues? Thanks.
