Exactly! My eyes are not great, and I think the stock sights absolutely suck. A rear peep that is solidly mounted would solve that problem. If later on I can also mount a red dot or holo sight on a rail down the center line of the gun and not have the optic being used as a heat sink over the gas tube, then that's great too. I'm waiting for this guy to come out with the rear peep sight for that rail. I want a rear peep and a place to put a simple red dot. Once he's got the rear worked out, I'm buying one. I would have bought the Krebs version of this a long time ago, but the Krebs rail costs more than the gun itself. This rail & sight combo is exactly what an AK needs. Simple, efficient, and robust.

A hand guard should be fine for an individual to send out. I'd say there's very little chance of it being stopped, but there's a chance in any package that gets sent to be stopped/seized. As was said before, just label the box auto parts or something similar, and do NOT ship an actual firearm. Don't send something overtly illegal in either country and you'll probably be fine 99% of the time.

They don't because many countries probably do not consider it a hunk of metal, and a business might have to spend horrendous amounts of money to find out for sure. A foreign country is not going to come after me for shipping a hand guard to you because I'm just one person shipping just one thing. A foreign country might come after a company though if that company did enough business to be noticeable. Do these attach at the receiver? For some reason I got it stuck in my head that these only attach at one point, but I can't find the post to back that up. These attach in 2 places just like the factory stock, correct? Thanks.

Cameron, you rock. But... I already sanded mine down and it fits just fine now. I finally found 10 minutes to remember to do it and it slides back and forth no problem now. So, looks like I'm good to go. Thanks for being a stand up guy!

Well, I still haven't sent it to Cameron, but I don't think I will. I'll try to mess with it myself, but I just haven't had any time with work and family fun.
