Yay, no pee or poop in the house this morning. Took him out, and he did his business outdoors!

I'm cool with him being a bit mixed. I think in the long run it's better genetically for dogs not to be a pure breed because it cuts down on inherited disease and predisposition. He's turning out to look really good and showing lots of smarts for a 2 month old dog. I like that he will play a few feet away from us without disturbing anyone, but when its time to be calm, he lies quietly next to our feet. When it's potty time he mumbles to warn, but still can't pick up his I have to urinste signs.

Took Bruno to the vet yesterday. The guy told us not to bathe him. To instead use a vacuum cleaner on him to keep him clean and baby powder for odor control. Any of you do this? He also said he's not a pure GSD. Said he's sure grandpa was a malinoise.

So far, almost so good. A few leaky accidents, but sort of starting to get the hang of going outside to do his business. He is a bit stubborn though. Doesn't like or want to be led on the leash.

He's actually really good. He's kind of already figured out that he needs to go outside to do his business. My daughter wants to keep him indoors, but not sure how long that will last.

My daughter named him Bruno. He's a tiny little thing.

My daughter has been begging for a pet, so I finally bit the bullet and got her a puppy. 2 month old German Shepherd. He's a white coat with black nose. Cute little thing. Not thrilled about having a dog again, but with the violence starting up again in Mexico, and with my neighbor who had the only dog in the immediate area moving away, I figured now was the time.

With the 5.45 running a red dot, I think I could match the AR owners. Saiga 12 should also hold it's own. Tokarev.....nah.

At the match, plain old Tula. At home, critical defense. Switched over to speer gold dot hp +p now.

I'll tell you guys something else. After this match, I've lost a lot of respect for 9mm out of a compact. There were some targets that I hit up to four times without getting them to drop. From yesterday forward, I'm only packing +p ammo in my handgun. I may even consider getting a compact Glock in 45.

Speaking of pistol caliber carbine, those things are actually pretty nifty. Lots of PSA models being used in 9mm. Made me long for a 9mm AK even more.

Never went blank, more like a pitbull. Both my son and I had the tendency of sticking to a target until it fell Instead of moving on to an easier one. But hey, we used Ruger SR9c's with cheap Tula ammo in a course that was really set up for pistol caliber carbine. I think we did fine, even if our scores say otherwise.

Done. Hard as heck!! I ran my compact and for the most part, happy. But it's super challenging. Stupid little targets are a pita!!!!

Thanks for the advice guys. I greatly appreciate it and plan to take it easy one stage at a time. I'm in no hurry to earn the respect of anyone in the circle of shooters that will be participating in this event. It's only for fun and an opportunity to do something a bit outside of my comfort zone when it comes to shooting. I'm really more interested in watching others and learning from them.
