  1. The results on wild pig (and rabit hunting ) at 40 to 70 y's. In 20, 16 and 20 gauge they work fine, with a regular 2-3" group at 50 y's and ~6" at 100 but only with a better sight than usual for a double-barrel shotgun and in guns with 1 barrel (semi or bolt). The energy, balistic and results ar like a .444 Marlin. If you don't have a semi-auto rifle, buy Sauvestre for your semi-auto shotgun
  2. Is a 27" barrel - the longest made - +2" the compensator. I use this gun at bird hunting and trap. The russian AK front sight on top of the barrel work better then the original placed on gase tube. The choke is "0". At 70 yards, with proper "long-range" shels the only problem is the shuter The scope is for "fun" and for wild pig hunting. I use "Sauvestre Magnum" at maximum 100 y's - the better "slug" here (6$ one!!!) and work properly from longer barrels. http://www.sauvestre.com/index_us.htm
  3. Saiga 20. and a litle sister by TULA - TOZ 106 - 20 gauge, 11" barrel
  4. The only way to avoid gov. tax. is to buy a "used" from another contry with a little price in paper and to pay this 100% at this "little" but unreal price. But you must find a dealer who accept this transaction. And is better to buy a expensive one, at last 1500 $ with 200 $ in paper and 200 $ transport to make a real deal. Import from Russia is quasi impossible - we have only 5 Saiga - 1 in 20 (mine) and 4 in 12 gauge, 5 Saiga 100 in .308 W and 3 Tigr (plastic furniture) in .308 W in all country. I try to buy a Tigr in 9,3x64 Brenneke but without succes. The last news: the gov. tax. is
  5. Another 30-06 is the MOLOT VEPR. Build on a RPK structure, but the grand mather is AK.
  6. Correct! I want a 30-06 but a 308 W is the only that i can buy (here in Romania, at 1000 miles from Izmash, we are "long range" from Russia than you are). And the price for a Saiga is 3 time biger than in USA and 2 time than in UE. I spend 1000 $ for my 20 gauge! 1000 $ is the price for a 308, only in this configuration. A Tigr in 9,3x64 Brenneke is "the best" for me but the price is >3000 $!!! here. We have an "extra" 100% (for the government) to pay for guns.
  7. I want to buy this, in 308 W: http://www.raacfirearms.com/Saiga_100.htm What do you know about? Problems? Thanks!
  8. Take a Romanian PSL in .308 (SSG 2000)!
  9. Hy! I am from Romania, 200 milles fron Russia. ~50% of our guns are "made in USSR" or "made in Russia". We have the same problems with the spare parts. The russian from Izhmash and Baikal do not sell barrel!! Our Cugir Factory intend to buy undrill metal bar and make the barrel but was imposible.
  10. It is normal for Saiga that the pin do not protude out of the hole when being pushed on the hammer side. Only with the bolt in place and completely close - this is an automatic safety against firing whitout the bolt completely close. The two parts of the firing pin ar made lake this. The front piece of the bolt don't rotate, only the rear part of the bolt rotate and asure the lock. I think that is a problem whit the closure. Tri to verify the rear piece of the bolt, the nuts and the corespondent parts on the barrel. Sory for my enghlish
  11. Hi! My name is Viorel and I am from Romania. I have a 2005 Saiga in 20 g, 22" bbl threaded barrel with 3 chokes (C, M, F), fixed sights on gas tube, quick detach wood stock, 2 mag's in 3" (x2, x5) and 2 mag's in 2 3/4" (x2, x5). I shot only italian shells, both in 2 3/4 and 3" and I haven't had any failures with the valve regulating gas put on "heavy" - but all the charges that I use are a little bit "heavy" for this gauge (28 to 40 grams - 0.98 to 1.41 ounces). As you see on my signature I am a 16 g fun but I use with pleasure both 12 and 20 g. I am not verry satisfaid with the original
  12. I want to buy the remaining one. Message on email. Thank you, Vio
