  1. Yes that is the side rail used for mounting an optic with the right mount of course. Also some mags will be a little hard to put in and out.It should get better the more you use it.If not usually the fix is fairly easy.
  2. It looks alot like the Dragunov stock.Go to the RAAC website and you can find a picture of it.
  3. That is normal ejection for a Kalashnikov type rifle. Also they are a little rough on the brass but nothing you can't work with.I have not heard of anybody doing mods to lessen the ejection.I usually use steel case ammo if I will be somewhere that is hard to find the brass like in a field with grass. At home I have put up a tarp to help collect the brass.
  4. Nice rifle. The 223 will get the job done provided you do your part. With the 223 just make sure of your shot placement.Have fun with them hogs.
  5. I would not buy for an investment for a future ban that may or may not come.If another ban does come most likely they will make it where you could have what you got but you could not legally sell it to anyone. This would hurt your "investment".Buy one because "you" want one.
  6. A big +1 for carolinashooterssupply.com they have the parts you need.Very fast shipping also.
  7. I would have to guess it would be a hand guard. It would be about as easy as anything I can think of.Most other things would be a little more work, not really hard just more involved than the hand guard.
  8. I got my items in 2 days as well.Order placed on Sunday, items here on Tuesday.I will order from them again.
  9. I would like to know as well.I have a 223 mag that did the same thing. The feed ramp/front lug broke off.
  10. It was designed that way.The Russians use a more heads up style of shooting than we do.

    .223 scope

The scope shown in the link has the SVD mount and won't work on your saiga. If you go the russian optic route make sure it has the AK type mount as they can be had with either mount. Also the russian scopes are sometimes mounted slightly offset to the left of center. This bothers some people and doesn't work well if you shoot left handed. The russians also seem to prefer a higher scope mount and a more heads up type shooting position than we do.I have a 223 and bought a BP type side mount. These can be had in low(bp02 ) or high(bp01) version. It depends on how large of a scope you want to mount. You
  12. Yes,you can use the iron sites with the cheek pad rotated out of the way.Rotate it in place and it puts you in position to use optics. It is ok, but if you ever plan on the conversion to pistol grip I would save the money on the skeleton stock and go pistol grip.If you are left handed you will have to modify the cheek piece to lock in place(simply cut a notch) for left hand use.It only has locking notches for right hand users. If you have large hands it will feel a little tight, imho. The length of pull is about 1.50 inch shorter than the standard Saiga buttstock or about 1.25 longer than the ak
  13. I don't think there is alot of choices for the unconverted saiga trigger group. These are kind of custom done by people like Dinzag and maybe Tromix thats why they seem to be priced higher than a stock G2 trigger group.
  14. The chinese military sling with the leather tabs works well and is cheap. The leather tab fits the front saiga sling swivel just right.
