  1. I hate to be a dick, but if you had just made the mags good enough for 1/10th the price, we would have just bought 10x more of them and thrown them out when they broke. There is no need to compete on quality when you are the only person on the market. That being said, I cant wait to see how they turn out and for what price they sell.
  2. Hahah saiga fanboys come out of the woodwork everywhere.
  3. If that were to happen, they would double in price, but then they would be U.S. guns & could be bought in their intended configuration. I'm thinking Exp-030, hinged cover, magwell, factory PG & folder, etc... Ah, we can dream!!! Actually no, it is better that there are no commercially available non-sporting versions. Remember, they are shotguns, so they have a different set of rules. The streetsweeper was US made and that got banned for being unsporting. Admittedly that was during the clinton years, but I dont really trust gonzales on teh gun issue at all.
  4. The Tapco SAW PG is probably the only really good product they make. I think their folding/collapsing stocks are crappy and their galil style front stocks look ugly. I've got two guns with tapco PGs and one with a 6 position stock that I am going to be replacing with an aceltd stock. The pistol grip is good because it fills your hand, is comfortable and doesnt have any drawbacks that I have encountered yet. The main problem with their stocks is that they are flimsy plastic. If you ever looked at an ace limited usa stock side by side with a tapco folder you would probably think that th
  5. Welcome and I recommend Tromix. Tony Rumore is awesome to deal with, his prices are awesome and his turnaround time is incredible. Oh yeah, and the quality of his work is outstanding. See thread below for pic of my gun. For stock selection I recommend kvar for authentic style stuff, aceltdusa and for the fancy stuff. Avoid tapco except for their pistol grips.
  6. English motherfucker, do you speak it? Cheek cheek cheek cheek.
  7. I'd be happier with regular 10 round saiga mags today rather than "extra badassed" ones in the unknown future.
  8. Any word? We are creeping up on 01/30.
  9. Super fast turnaround time, great price, great workmanship. The 7.5" stock with 1" recoil pad is great handling by the way. I cant wait to get some 10 rd mags.
  10. I'm not so hot on the stock (I think a krink skeleton sidefolder would look better) but that 8" barrel has me hating the NFA with a passion.
  11. If I need tight groups and big stopping power beyond 10 yards I will break out the AK. Actually, the AK has been my HD gun for a long time for reliability and ammo capacity reasons. edit: hopefully I can someday get some hicap saiga mags and use the shotty for HD like god intended. Even so, IMO the S&B buck groups tight enough out to 25 yards to kill a burglar and penetrates enough that I dont really think that it is suffering from insufficient power. TAP might be nicer, but I cant honestly think of anything that TAP buck does that wolf 7.62x39 doesnt do 30 times better for 1/10th the
  12. Hey, correct me if I'm wrong, but isnt TAP super expensive? I'd rather have S&B 00 buck and be able to practice with it a few times a month than have super duper ammo that costs an arm and a leg. Its the same with AK ammo, pistol ammo etc. I personally think being able to handle the gun and place shots effectively is most important and that only comes with practice. I figure if a badguy somehow gets ahold of a IIIA vest I can just keep shooting him until he drops. I dont particularly care if the first round kills him, breaks his ribs or just knocks the wind out of him. He is going to
  13. He sounds like a cross between a semi-funny troll and a mouthbreathing dipshit.
  14. Hey, with the russians being incompetent, why doesnt someone set up an AK receiver bending factory in this country and start churning out saiga work-a-likes for comparable money? I dont think there is a single part of the AK design that is a mystery. Tony seems to make custom caliber AK rifles (458 socom for example), and the only catch is getting magazines, which would already exist for saiga caliber weapons. Or are the russians producing them at an impossibly low price point?
  15. Hey all, I had an amazingly fun time trying to ship the gun since all the UPS centers and all but one of the post offices around here is deathly afraid of guns. They all had a fit and refused to ship it immediately. There is a thread in Legal and Political on THR. I finally found a USPS office that was full of knowledgable guys who also were very pro RKBA. I'll go back to them in the future for gun shipments. Oh yeah, I sent the gun to Tony. Hopefully I should get it back sometime in January and I'll post pics.
  16. Good luck. The NRA is notoriously weak on this sort of thing.
  17. man, any pre-orders? can i call in my card info (don't have or want paypal)? man, i can't wait!!! 10 round polymer mags, right? 40 bucks each is actually a pretty respectable price in today's saiga magazine marketplace. Well the game is now joined... the metal mag guys have a month to roll theirs out before you snatch up the whole market. Has anyone looked into making any stack and a half or double stack mags that sort of bulge out below the magwell? I imagine you could fit 15+ rounds in such a mag.
  18. Hopefully never because I liked being able to buy one for 195 bucks. I also like not getting attention from the bradyites and the ATF. The less people know about the saiga, the better things will be for me.
  19. Thanks guys. I shot tony an email. Assuming this goes forward as planned, I'll post pics when I get the gun back. After this, all I need is some 10 rd mags.
  20. Awesome. I am a retard for not guessing his website name. Anyway, 350 dollars including parts and barrel shortening sounds dreamy. I guess I just go to UPS and ask for a gun-shaped box. How did you guys ship it? I assume an FFL is unnecessary because you arent transferring ownership.
  21. Want to convert my sporterized saiga12 over to a folding stock and pistol grip and shorten the barrel from 22 to 18 inches. Recommendations? I have so far come across mention of Tony Rumore/tromix (but cant find his website) and AK-USA (who hasnt responded to me yet, but is probably super expensive). I am located in Florida. If anyone can recommend based on price, turnaround time, quality of work etc I would appreciate it. Also, I welcome any caveats about currently active converters that butcher guns or steal (reminded of that Diamond Dave fiasco). I would hate to go with so
  22. They look awesome. If they are as sturdy as they look and priced somewhat reasonably, I will buy a whole bunch. I love shooting the saiga-12 at the range. Its like holding a thunderbolt in your hands. More recoil than some of the 50 calibers. No joke.
  23. I logged in for the first time in over a year just to post in this thread. That is how impressed I am. So 10 round mags are on the way... Anyone know when production will actually begin? Will pricing be similar to synthetic AK mags or more similar to USAS12 drums? If they turn out to be under 30 bucks, I will probably buy a bunch.
  24. How can I tell if #1 shot is buckshot (.30) or birdshot (.16)? Neither you nor your links explained this.
  25. Sweet I can import nuclear missles without any tedious paperwork *opens checkbook*.
