The pictures say it all. The barrels have been torched between the upper and front sight/gas block. They are marked with a "C" in a square box on the carry handle, which means they are in fact Colt manufacture. Some are in better shape than others, the worst one just has the rear sight adjustment wheel broke in one place. The bore on all of them is very good, very sharp. No pitting at all in the metal. It must be the bad pics, sorry. The cosmoline did it's job! Two of them were #s matching. Musta been just luck of the draw! I feel like I won the lottery on these, but regret not ordering at least 10 more while I had the chance. Whoever bought them out will be selling these for profit, no doubt.

This is my first weld build and I couldn't be any happier with it! Just figured I'd share my pride somewhere it would be appreciated (my wife tries her best to humor me!) I picked this kit up at the funshow for $150 in January!! The guy was selling fishing lures and had no idea what he had. I'm pretty sure it's never been fired, hardly if ever.

So I ordered a few of the $39.99 M44 Nagants that centerfire had on sale last week (I think they're $49.99 now and maybe out of stock) and I got to looking into sporterizing one of them. I realized that the front sight would make a pretty solid HK style sight for my S12. I realize that there'll be some cutting/profiling/welding to make it fit, but that's nothing scary to me. Now it's got me wondering where I can pirate a rear sight that resembles the HK setup. I might have to pony up and pay for one of those. Yes, I'm a cheap bastid.

Where are you located The Vigilante? I'm sure if someone on this board is close to you they'd be more than happy to show/explain it to you. I've not been here long at all (lurked a while though), but there's good people here. I'll help if I'm close (Roanoke, VA). As said, good luck with whatever route you go.
