G O B 3,516 Posted July 16, 2006 Report Share Posted July 16, 2006 The holes that the 2 pins engage are worn, or the pins themselves, OR most likely both. There is no easy or pretty way to fix this. The easiest way I know would be to dissasemble the mechanism and replace the worn parts. If you can anneal the parts with the holes, you could tighten them by using a center punch to displace metal into the holes on the worn sides, and then re-tempering. Pete Kokalis, a military arms analyst and gun-writer for SOF and Shotgun News has stated that this is common for underfolder AK style stocks to eventually wobble to some degree with use. Tokageko 8 Posted August 31, 2006 Report Share Posted August 31, 2006 Don't bother trying to fix it unless it's going to fall off during use (does that count as converting a rifle to a pistol?). If you wanted a fixed stock, you woudn't have gotten one with a folding stock. They're made for different things. Just enjoy what you have and don't ask for more than you can reasonably expect.
