british surplus ammo

Recommended Posts

:smoke: I have been buying some surplus Brit 5.56/223 ammo at the gunshows here and guess what- STEEL CORE/light AP! wooo hooo!!! It is the 62 grain stuff and shoots fine in my rifles.

I like to drag my boiler plates out and do comparisons on the penetration of ammo.

Tell you 1 thing,at about 100-125 yds my russkie M47 nagant and my chech mauser will just about penetrate my 3/4" boiler plate with surplus militayr ball, I think it is higher pressure since they tended to load all ammo for machine gun use regardless if you carried one or not. something to think about-brick wall-cover? I THINK NOT!!!

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the british 5.56 stuff their army uses. I happend to run across a whole bunch of it. comes in a little green shoulder sling on stripper clips. mainly just wondering if they use corrosive primers and such.

You must be refering to the Radway Arsenal ss109.

I bought one of the loose packed cans of 720 rounds for cheaper.

I am not dissappointed. It is excellent ammo!
