Karma 0
So how do you guys clean your AGP 10 rounders? I was just going to take all the screws out and wipe everything down with good ole hopps cleaner. Anything I should know?
kresk 10,063
I'd just remove the base plate then extract the spring and follower and clean the internals appropriately. Disassembling the mag bodies is unnecessary and with repeated taking apart and putting back together I would be concerned about the screw holes getting a bit worn and having the bodies become a little loose over time. Karma 0
Does that baseplate come out with a basic punch tool? Sorry I don't have the mags in front of me right now.

Yessir it slides right off once you push in the retainer pin. Just be prepared or the spring will fly out at you like a jack in the box! Karma 0
Sweet deal. Its cleaning time when I get home then because the followers are sticking. They were giving me some trouble loading the first round in on a fresh mag. LoL @ jack-in-the-box! I learned a while ago that whenever using punches to disasmble firearms be ready for stuff to go shooting out. I almost shot my eye out when taking apart the mainspring housing and then the disconnecter for the first time on my 1911. It was a good thing I still had my eyes on from going to the range just before because it whizzed right by me.
scoutjoe 276
when taking my saiga mags apart at camp to swab them out the line i almost always end up saying when i take the baseplate is "now this is the part that sucks" and then i end up hitting myself with a part of the spring, or baseplate...something

I have some plastic guns that owners manual say to avoid getting solvents on them. Not that you would soak one in them, but anyone really know if it breaks it down over time???? I wondered the same thing so I bought some of that "plastic safe" gunscrubber just to be sure I wasn't going to mess things up.

G O B 3,516
Clean plastic mag parts in the kitchen sink, use dish soap and a brush. Pay special attention to the channel that the shell rim travels is. Rinse thoroughly and blow dry. Lube with dry silicone or graphite. Do not wash springs. Just wipe with rag and synthetic oil.
