AK-308 2
Since there doesn't seem to be any steel hulled buckshot rounds around, how about keeping the top 1 or 2 rounds as slugs? Does that solve the deformation problem?
Genocide 0
I have had my 5 round magazine with Remington 3" slugs in my S12 for 3 months, its not deformed enough to effect anything, just a small dimple. The slug itself holds the shell in place keeping it from deforming.
MrTuffPaws 2
don't feel too bad. Tube mags will deform shells enough to make them impossible to chamber if they are stored in the tube long enough.
ironhead7544 35
Have experimented with just this thing. With the 5 rounders, a slug for the top round will work. The buckshot with a top wad will come apart if left in the gun. If you want to load long term with the buckshot, leave the mag out but handy. A butt stock pouch would be nice. AK-308 2
Thanks for the replies What about downloading by one round? Does that save it too? Sorry for all the questions, don't got my S12 yet.
G O B 3,516
I always download all loaded mags that are not for immediate use by one rd. And our Saiga shotguns use steel hulls for HD.
Illuminaughty 0
After trying a few brands, I find that winchester supreme platinum tip don't deform, and they're the 12 gauge slug equivalent to black talons.

Nevermind. These don't deform in my 5 rounder but they do in my 10 rounder!
