joltash 0
Does anybody know of any US-made furniture sets (wood or synthetic) that will fit on Saiga .308? Will a regular AK upper and lower fit on the front, or no?
joltash 0
Also, this might be a stupid question, but when I put in a US-made pistol grip, do I have to make sure that the nut and screw are US-made as well? If they aren't, does that count as putting in a foreign made part?
RooK 0
Any US made stock or pistol grip for an AK will work (check out K-var.com). Forends will not though, because it lacks the upper and lower handguard retainers and they take some work to put on. No, it doesn't matter if the nut/screw are US made or not, only the pistol grip itself.
jtoddellis 2
This may be a dumb question, but if it would fit could you use a regular AK gas tube and then would an AK forend fit?
crowak 12
The upper handguard would work but not the lower.
joltash 0
What is a good stock at K-Var to match the factory synthetic forend? I don't want two pieces tht don't match. Also, has anyody had any luck with the AR-15 stock adapter with AR-15 style collapsable stock?
RooK 0
I don't think anyones stocks match the factory forends. You could always buy some paint and spray it black. People who own the AR15 stock convertors like them, but I think they just look odd. Ace has some excellent stock options (if expensive), as well as several different pistol grip designs. Tapco has a folding, synthetic Galil style stock for around $50. Whatever floats your boat.
KySoldier 2
I just got my stock in from Ace, it is rock solid! Can't wait to get it on my S-12!
Siagalova 0
My black Nato stock matched my black fore grip! no problem! on the 7.62 X39 thread there's a picture of bvamp's sar with an ar-15 stock - I think it's blasfemy, myself, those guys seem to like it though! KySoldier 2
Well, everyone seems to struggle with stock length, it makes since to have one that is adjustable.
Vrotate 0
How are you getting a pistol grip to fit with the trigger group on the .308 being so far back? Any pics??
DoubleD 0
You do some drilling, add a normal trigger group, and move it forward. The trigger is moved back so that you can reach it from the straight stock.
RichardW 0
If you can get an upper handguard to work by simply replacing the gas tube, what do you have to do to get the lower to work? Do you have to weld something onto the barrel (I'm not familiar with the design, the Saiga is my first AK) or preferably, can you fabricate some kind of threaded clamp-on retainer?
