keyser223 0
Ok, I have a cz52. Today I buy another one. My original gun, after you cock the hammer and then decock it using the safety lever, the gun decocks and now that the hammer is lowered, you can still move the safety to the "on" and "fire" positions. On the gun I bought today, when I do this the safety will barely budge at all until the hammer is cocked back again. The guys at the local gunshop tell me that it works like a 1911 and it's supposed to be that way and there is something wrong with the original one I own. I think the first one is functioning and not the one I just got. If this makes any sense, could someone check their's and let me know which one of these is "correct". Thanks
nalioth 405
The weapon should go on 'safe' with the hammer up or down.
keyser223 0
That's what I thought, thanks. I think it's a problem with the transfer bar that is on the right side of the frame that goes between the trigger and the hammer. Now the trigger doesn't want to reset and the hammer doesn't want to stay cocked. Hopefully they fix this thing or I can get something else.
Buzz 0
While we are on the topic of the CZ-52 safety, does anyone know whether there is a way to permanently de-activate the de-cocker while retaining the use of the safety and firing pin block? BTW, here is a photo of my "new" CZ-52:
MD_Willington 11
Before disabling the de-cocker, I'd see if it actually works. IIRC... Here's how you do that. Verify the pistol is unloaded. Hold the pistol so the muzzle is pointed up. Place a pencil with an eraser on it down the barrel. Cock the hammer back. Now use the de-cocker, if the pencil launchers, it ain't working...

Yup, that's what I always do with a de-cocker. You can also put in a fresh snap cap and see if there is a strike to the primer. The de-cocker works.
