rear peep sight mounted on receiver

Recommended Posts

People always say that mounting a scope on the receiver cover is no good, due to the fact that it isn't too sturdy, and won't hold zero that well. So I'm assuming the same would go for a peep site on it. But I'm not 100% on that.

All depends who reworks the cover on the receiver, for a steady

sight on the receiver cover, the cover have to be reworked to

be tight and have to movement, no your cheap cover that you see for sale

with 2 bolts on the back on it and a rail mounted on top.

On the other hand some Saigas come with a cover so tight

that will hold steady but they are the exception and sights

can be install on them with out worry of movement or rework

the cover.

OK, thanks for clearing that up. Like I said, I wasn't 100% sure on that.

Here is another option jbremount... http://dpharms.com/beryl-style-scope-mount-p-230.html . It's not actually hooked to the receiver cover, it sits right over it, and can fold upward for removal of the receiver cover to clean. Just slap a rear site of your choice onto the rail, and you're set. Price isn't bad either.
