22_Shooter 1,560
Am I correct in assuming that any AK bolt with a spring loaded firing pin would fit a x39 Saiga? I keep reading about people having slam fires with gunked up firing pins that are free floating. I'm pretty meticulous about cleaning so it shouldn't be a problem for me, but I was just wondering. So any advantages with a spring loaded vs. a free floating, or am I just being paranoid? If the bolts are interchangeable, where's a good place to get one? Edited to add: I just remembered that the bolt would count towards compliance, so any info on where to get a US made bolt would be good. BobAsh 582
There are no (Saiga) internal replacement parts available, unless someone parts out a gun. I don't think you will find any AK internals that will work.
22_Shooter 1,560
Aw shitty. That sucks. That would be an easy compliance swap-out too.
6500rpm 670
The only examples I know of is a retrofit for the SKS, and now Century is doing a retrofit bolt for the Galil. Most issues on them stem from either gunked up firing pins, or soft primer commercial ammo. As far as I know it's not typical of most AK's.
