sKott 26
I bought a stock Short flash hider from rusmilitary.com for a threaded barrel. I installed it but it seemed to bottom out with a 1/4" of threads still showing. I can still turn it with the wrench but it is awful tight so I took it off because I do not want to damage the barrel. - Am I doing something wrong??? Or do I just crank it down and the pressure holds it in place?? Thanks - sKott
rocinante 100
I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe Ivan running the threading machine reflexes were off because of a vodka hangover and just made it a little longer.
TonyRumore 1,332
If you measure the thread on your barrel, you will probably find there is a slight taper front to back, causing that. That's fairly common on the S-12's. Tony
SaigaNoobie 66
look inside the flash hider, there may be a burr in one of the threads or something.
Bvamp 604
could be excess oil/grease in the threads, also. clean it, and try ONE DROP of wd-40 on the threads.
sKott 26
Problem fixed. I just took it off and put it back on 4 or 5 times. Each time I installed the flash hider it went a little further on until it seated like it is suppose to. Trust me this is a first in a long line of questions until the conversion is complete. Thanks to all who responded. Thanks - sKott Edited November 3, 2007 by sKott
dinzag 31
On two I've see a couple dented threads. Probably all it was.
