JK-47 33
Will Hungarian AMD63/AMD65 handguards fit other AK's if they have the normal handguard retainer? I know it won't fit on stock saiga, but perhaps a WASR or other standard AK rifle?
nalioth 405
No, the lower handguard retainer is specially made for those. Without it, the guard rides up under the pressure of the retaining system. The nubs at the top here, and the extended outsides work to keep the LHG in place. If you have a welder, you can probably modify regular AK LHGs to work. Edited January 15, 2008 by nalioth
ndomres 0
You can have a standard AMD HG retainer cut and tapped to fit on your barrel without any pressing. Dinzag can make you one if you can find an HG retainer from a AMD kit.

1-7 leathal tourist 0
Yes it does look very cool but remember you have to modify the foregrip by taking small squares off the rear and shave the front down to fit.I am using Dinzags piece.

Ive fitted about 8 of these to S12s, S20s, 308, and used Dinzag retainers with no movement after install, but I fit them pretty tight. heres some examples btw, I have one on my WASR as well, but it does have a slight movement, I have to address that at some point, but since its the tractor rifle, its not a problem.
