armored_pig 0
Hello everybody, I'm new here, but I did run a thorough search before posting.. I don't have a Saiga yet, but getting one this saturday--anwayys, this question pertains to my RPK in 7.62 so I put my question here.. CAI dremel monkeys found a hammer and decided to use it on my unsuspecting crown How bad does this look? Also, if I decide to recrown, how will the chrome lining hold up where the new crown is cut? Do I need to cut a chamfer too? I am on the line on recrowning because the dent seems to be above the crown--but I am no expert on crowns Thanks! AP
jamesavery22 54
Is it just me or does it look like the part of the barrel that the bullet actually touches is fine? Looks like the damage is just to the exterior of the barrel... The first pic tells the story. The curve of the very end tip of the interior of the barrel looks perfect. armored_pig 0
I think it might be fine, I had better hold on to it and shoot it first as is.. Thanks for checking it out! AP
IndyArms 10,186
I agree... the barrel looks perfect to me... the ding is on the OUTSIDE edge... has nothing to do where the bullet rides... you are all good.
Vultite 57
cutting and recrowning shouldn't have any issues with the chroming as long as you do it correctly or get a good smith to do it for you, i'd have it recrowned just b/c.....but thats just me
