guntech 0
Hi, can the .223 saiga be used as a hog gun; Or will the 7.62x39 be better for the hogs? I heard the 7.62x39 is loud, how about the .223?

Ammoblaster 0
i think the 223 is louder because its faster,,both will take a hog, i got a big doe at 40 yards with my 7.62x39mm one shot droped in her tracks.
fubutx 0
I have taking out many hogs with my 223 i go for a head shot and they drop right there i have also taking down 2 axis the frist on was at about 158 yards and the second at about 186 yards
ironhead7544 35
The 223 will work but the 7.62x39 has a heavier bullet and will give better penetration on chest shots. The 64 grain Winchester load would be my choice with the 223 and CorBon 150 grain ammo for the 7.62x39.
hoop762 0
the .223 has plenty of accuracy, so go for a headshot. It should so nicely, even with the relatively small bullet. Bust em in the brain, and consider em porkchops!
