nalioth 405
No. There is a very clear list of parts along with the law here: http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=18530 Please do read it.
macbeau 902
No... BUT! I hear a lot about what IS allowed under 922r...here is a quick list of "parts" that DON'T count. Any: 1. Pins (flat, retaining, firing, roll, bowling, pig, pledge, or otherwise) 2. Springs (Flat, coil, retaining, recoil, hammer, disconnector, magazine, natural, mineral or otherwise) 3. Guides (Spring, bullet, tour, seeing-eye, spiritual, or otherwise) 4. Rivets (see the several on the outside of your receiver) NOT A PART(s)! 5. Screws (flat-tip, Philips, HEX, Roberts, TORX, easy, good or cheap) Uh uh... 6. Front sight posts or bases (or sight adjustment tools! Seriously!) 7. Rear sight apatures or blades (or their spring (see#2), pins (see#1) or housings/bases) 8. Gas Blocks (Chrome-lined or not) (*sigh*). 9. Magazine releases (Or triggerguards, or associated springs and/or pins... yada, yada, yada) 10. Washers or escuccions (grip housing - mostly) 11. Recoil pads (with or without "venting" and/or white outline spacer, or cheek pieces.) 12. AMMO (U.S. made ammo is not a U.S. part as far as 922r is concerned...) 13. Paint or "finish" (A US paint job (refinish job) is not a US part as far as 922r is concerned...) 14. Optics or OPTIC MOUNTS - nada on the parts count. 15. Slings (or sling swivels or their associated pins/screws/rivets/elven magic...) NO-GO! 16. Gun Case (or gun safe / cabinet / storgage thingy) ZIP! 17. TOP COVERS (same as the misc. 16 Items above) 18. Elven Magic - Kebbler / Nabisco has a monopoly here and not much into guns or 922r... NIX 19. The car your transporting it in - Althought U.S. made seems to help here in the South with the cops, it's not a 922r "part". 20. Cleaning supplies (rods, jags, solvent, brushes, eyelets, patches, lubes, picks, etc... ) Sadly, no dice... 21. Operator (Just because you were "U.S. made" (or Naturalized) doesn't make you a U.S. part...) 22. Safety's (Oddly enough, a safety was the fartherst thing from the minds of the bunch that came up with the 922r crap) 23. Bipods - no U.S. parts eligible here... 24. Things you might shoot (ie: aardvarks, armadillos, bears, boars, cats, bats, dawgs, hawgs, stoats, goats, yaks, and old gnus... and/or Snowmen - regardless of country of origin) are, sadly, not considered under 922r. ... ... More to follow, I'm sure... For those in the "know", - please feel free to add to the list... Macbeau sends... Edited August 9, 2008 by macbeau
macbeau 902
Also - even though top covers (dust covers) are not on the 922r thou-shall-have-have-no-more-than-10-of-these list, most top covers are actually imported and some US manufacturer just slapped on a rail or sights or something. It doesn't make it a US part. I don't know of anyone who actually "makes" (from scratch) an AK top cover domestically, but that hardly matters since, as stated earlier, it ain't even on the list... Macbeau... er, uhhh - you know... Edited August 11, 2008 by macbeau
