Bead sight removal????

Recommended Posts

Ok what is the best way to remove the front bead sight on an S12? I want to install a fiber optic front sight. I looked down the gas block and I can see that it is threaded. I am about to just drill it and buy a small ez out.

Mine wasn't threaded it was just swadged in the hole.

I was grinding the thing off to install a MP5 front and it just fell into the gasblock when

I had it flush with the ramp.

EZ out won't work. The new ones like yours are staked in place. That means they are like peened on the inside and won't unscrew like the old ones. You are pretty much stuck with either grinding or filing it off flush, then drilling / punching it out, or filing flush and just drilling / tapping a new hole.

How do I tell if mine is staked or will unscrew?
