Dirty 4
Hey Mitt, at the shooting range I go to, I met a guy that had something similar set up on his Mosin. He let me shoot it and it was dead on. He was the one that actually motivated me to get out my own Mosin that I had been neglecting. I'm kind of a purist and I like to keep things in their original configuration, plus I like shooting iron sights, so it's not for me. However I'm sure it would work. Man I love those old bolt guns.......power! Never shot the 98, but I'm sure it's similar.

I shot a Yugo Mauser with a LER Leupold pistol scope on an Ashley mount a couple of years ago and it was a smoking hot setup http://www.xssights.com/store/scope.html I thought about doing one with an Enfield but can't bring myself to mess an old one up
buckandaquarterquarterstaff 5
I'd spend a bit (well a lot) more and get the 2x6 bushnell pistol scope. I've had one on a 44, 10mm, and sks for four years (moving it between them) and it's both clear and rugged. One thing to understand though is that no scout scope is going to be as bright or clear as one that you sit closer to. Still it's better then the irons if your eyes are bad.
