wesleyowen 0
I'm contemplating which sort of optics I want and which type rail would work, so my question centers around: 1. Which type of rail will work best for what I'm trying to do 2. Ideas on back up iron sights 3. Ideas on brands/models of optics (red dot type). Currently I have a Tromix Competition Stock and I have not yet installed any sort of top rails. I'd like back up iron sights to go along with the red dot sight. I noticed the HK Rear Sight Base with Extended Picatinny Rail. http://www.mississippiautoarms.com/index.p...products_id=449 For those of you who have one, is there any optic that would work with the HK sight? Allowing use of both? Does anyone have any photos of this installed on a gun with optics? I also have thought of the Ultimak rail. http://www.mississippiautoarms.com/index.p...products_id=179 I don't want a rail that bolts on the side or the rear, etc. I want a rail that is truly on top of the gun. As far as back up iron sights go, I've thought of getting the flip-up sights for front and rear. I'd like HK sights, but I don't think they make a rear one that flips down. Any ideas on what sort of hardware could get me a setup where I have a red dot optic on a rail, and still be able to have back up iron sights (preferably HK style)? Or is it best to forget the concept and stick to just HK sights?
Ruffian72 548
Just my thought. Go with the Krebs iron. Have had both halo and Russian reddot/halo style. Unless shooting slugs, not really needed, yet fine sites for long guns. Have HK's on a couple rifles, are ok. Just want shotgun to be KISS. Quick target, no site faiture worries. P.S. Have tri rail on order to put forward grip. Just be more comfortable for shooting MD's drums. Got short arms:killer:
vintagedude88 16
Go check out Cobra's Customs (site sponsor) He's got a rail that sits on the gas block like an Ultimak except his comes with a peep site. You'll need an FSB to go with that and Dinzag (site sponsor) has those available.
vintagedude88 16
I just picked-up this little red dot at my local sporting goods store on sale with a coupon for $20 http://www.bsaoptics.com/scope.aspx?product=315 Its rail adapters for both dovetail and 20mm rail. Not bad for a shotty. Its made in China but it has a BSA name so I assume that its okay.

It will attach to the side mount and will not loose zero when you take it on and off. http://www.eastwave.ca/products/scopes/cobra.html
criminalpoet 0
Honestly man, its a shotgun lol, you could probably save some money and just buy you a Vector Optics green dot laser. Thats what I use and it works great!!! You can see it at 100 meters in broad daylight and 1000 + meters at night, I have hit jackrabbits at 75 yards with it on my Saiga 12 in the daytime, and I can sink slugs right into the bullseye at 50yards too..... ChileRelleno 7,071
Screw all the fancy schmancy optics... Just replace the OEM iron with Krebs Custom Combat sights, the ghost ring allows super fast target acquisition and has been very accurate for me. I'm murdering 4"x4"x24" wood blocks with slugs at 50 & 75 yards.
RABIDFOX50 6
Does anyone make a rail that mounts to the rear iron sight dovetail. I was thinking of using a Dr. Optic red dot I have sitting around.
