cbrgator 0
If I wanted to convert my S12 to the more traditional stock/pistol grip, which parts are the easiest to replace to bring me into 922r compliance? Let's assume I will be using the factory magazine, so those 3 parts cannot be replaced. What would you guys do? I was thinking, the stock/pistol grip, piston, handguards. Better suggestions? sidewinderl 43
Just doing the conversion makes you compliant as long as you use american-made replacement parts (stock/pg and fcg). Anything else (puck and handguard) is just extra insurance. Edited October 13, 2009 by sidewinderl
vbrtrmn 167
Read the 922r section, the thing to remember is "10 or fewer" foreign made parts, there's a link in my sig to a better description.
Azrial 1,091
Also, keep in mind, that not all parts count for your 10 count.
BobAsh 582
The standard way is the Fire Control Group, which counts for 3 parts. Since the current S-12 has 13 counted parts, technically you are GTG. The addition of a US made pistol grip, buttstock, forearm or gas puck puts you well over the requirement. cbrgator 0
So if I add the stock/pistol grip, handguard, and puck, would I be in compliance even without the fcg?

BobAsh 582
So if I add the stock/pistol grip, handguard, and puck, would I be in compliance even without the fcg? The S-12 doesn't come with a pistol grip, so adding a US-made one doesn't reduce the number of foreign parts. Why don't you want to do the FCG? It's the single best thing you can do for the performance of the gun.
