jdmakersmark 15
I received my order from dinzag on Wednesday and I'm getting ready to get the conversion started. I guess it will take a few days to complete with the refinishing of the receiver. I plan to take the Clinton plate off today and pic up some paint for the receiver. I plan to use Duracoat engine enamel any recommendations for a quick rattle can paint job? Thanks
elvis christ 451
I use the semi-flat black Duplicolor engine enamel, it matches the factory finish pretty nice. Lately, I've been using some rattle can primer on the metal before I apply the paint, also.
sapper1371usmc 107
Yeah I use duplicolor low gloss matte blk as well. Just throw the reciever and all in the oven for an hour on 350 degrees. It helps cure the paint faster and I believe it gets it harder as well. Good luck. Post pis when your done. Paulyski 2,227
+1 on Duplicolor brand. They make grey high heat primer too.
jdmakersmark 15
Clinton plate removed. The two welds in the middle gave me a fight, but since I'm not reusing the trigger guard I gave it a butcher job. I was surprised how easy it was. Thanks for the encouragement! I hope the rest goes this easy.
BrutalGardener 205
I used the DupliColor 500 Degree Engine Enamel myself. The paint looks good and seems to stick just fine (for the most part), but I'm having an issue with it coming off a bit from where the weld spots were. It could be because I didn't grind down/filed the spot welds flush enough or because the paint doesn't stick to that weld material as well as it does to the rest of the receiver metal.
