choobie 5
Doing a conversion since last year, not rushing it. Just haven't found the time to fix up the front end. Here's a picture of the sleeve I'm trying to remove as I cut around the end. It's still not coming out even if I tap with a screwdriver and mallet. Any advice?
n102788 6
I used a cheap $11 copper pipe cutter from home depot to remove my sleeve, when i was cutting the sleeve i was very carefull not to cut into the barrel so i stopped cutting when i thought it was almost through. I went at it with pliers and a mallet and it would budge. So i started to cut agian and when i got a few more rotations and cut the sleeve completly off it just poped off with no need to even remove it with my hands. it literally fell off. choobie 5
Cool, thanks! In order to get the fsb and gb off, are the cuts I've made suitable? I cut the side and the bottom, but not to the barrel yet. Is the position of the cut for the sleeve good? (immediately in front of fsb)
ae13291 3
after i made a even enough cut all around with a dremal i put a screwdriver there and hit the thing with a hammer till it flew off.

Search the forum, but from what i remember reading, you have to drill out those dimples in the FSB.. after that you have to beat the FSB off.. several ways of doing that.
