I took my 14 year old to the Rascal Flatts concert in Raleigh last night. I had not been to a concert in about 20 years. It was extremely well done (other than being outside, so it was HOT). It was a great bonding experience with her. She had a great time and I had a great time watching my baby look all grown up and having a great time. I really did not know much about Rascal Flatts but they won me over, I like them. Kelly Pickler was on right before them and she did a great job, too. Even the first band, who's name eludes me now, was very good.

I splurged and bought the VIP parking pass---best $20.00 I've ever spent. We were out of there in five minutes. I could not believe that. If I ever go to another concert, VIP parking will be a must.

Anyway, it was a wonderful time and she said it was the best night of her life (all 14 years), so that is pretty cool.

Sounds like y'all had a great time WJ. That's a good connection to make for sure. If that was by any chance in the new amphitheater downtown, it's good to know about the VIP parking. Thanks for the tip. I'll pass that on to my buds who are going down there to see Cypress Hill soon. That show should be 'interesting' right in the middle of downtown Raleigh...lol.

Hi Cobra!

It was at the Walnut Creek Pavilion. It is a nice facility, but $18.00 for a frozen adult beverage was a bit pricey, at least in my book. I guess I had forgotten all of the incidental expenses of going to a concert. Five bucks for a Pepsi, $30.00 for my daughter's "official" Rascal Flatt's T-shirt, snacks and tips, and the whole evening cost me about the same as a base S-12. However, it was worth every penny. My baby has grown into a beautiful young lady with manners and social skills. I was proud of her and we had a great time.

Ahh yes, the Creek.....ugh....home of the 8 dollar 24 oz Bud. (probably 10 to 12 bucks by now) Yeah they stick it to ya pretty good there but it is a very cool place to see a concert. Saw Rush there not too long ago... Linkin Park, Black Sabbath, and Jethro Tull before that. (separate shows) They do get some good bands in there.
