Tapco g2 hammer requires modification?

Recommended Posts

The new hammer is the one on the right with the pointy shaped protrusion on the top of where the hammer pin goes through. This protrusion makes it so the hammer will not fall all the way and hits the frame of the gun. Is this normal?

The photo below is my old hammer that doesn't reset properly in the disconnector next to my new hammer that won't rotate freely.

Thanks in advance.

Yes that's normal.

AKs don't have the part that that point you circled will hit on the S-12, so you must remove the circled part for the S-12.

If you want to profile the hammer face, just de-horn it a touch, don't remove nearly so much off the face.

Also, you will have to modify the BHO side of the axis to use your BHO, unless you just toss the BHO, then keep the axis how it is.

Okay, so I will need to round off that nub and shorten the BHO on the side of the BHO.

I wasn't planning to really reprofile the hammer at all, just polish it while taking off as little as possible.

Thanks for the reply.

Edit: In retrospect is there anyone out there that will sell me a hammer, properly polished and finished with the minimum metal removed from the face as possible, that will work in a saiga 12 as a drop in with a BHO? I'm more comfortable having someone else to this than me sitting here with a dremel.

I would like to have seen the answer to this question. I have the same concern.
