308SAIGA 55
Anyone ever use this stuff? Does it re-harden steel as some claim? Or is this junk and do not try it? Thanks http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=119479

Thank you for your reply, is this from personal experience or is it from what you have heard? I want to re-harden steel that has already been treated at one point.... Thanks again
echoside190 127
I've used it a few times before when I've made punches and it's awesome when you aren't able to have access to a fancy heat treating furnace. It'll case harden steel .010-.020" deep, give or take depending on how many times you apply it and the heat applied. just follow the instructions and it'll work well if you're wanting to case harden something. Stansplace 414
It works, you should take care of those impurity bubbles first. You aren't going to hurt it at this point. The case hardening compound works to a depth of about .015".
