Scatillac 22
Went to the range tonite. Was running the 30 rders thru my gun fairly quick. Barrel was heated and like an idiot I layed it down on my gun case. Barrel burnt a hole thru my cheap soft guncase. Have some residue on the barrel now. Can probably scrape off the hardened crusty part now. Anyone have any ideas on how to get all of it off? wire brush or something? thanks for the help.

Dont feel bad, it happens...I've done it before, except it was a hard case with foam inside. I dont think Id go too crazy with a wire brush, you risk removing the factory coating under the melted blob. I would heat it up a little if its not too close to anything plastic...just a quick blast with something and try scraping it off with a plastic putty knife. You may be able to scrape it off without heat....when I did it at the range, I just emptied another 30 rounder down range, and wiped it back off while the barrel was still hot. kresk 10,063
Try a synthetic bristle brush and some WD40--shouldn't hurt anything anyways.

Battosaii 99
yea the 7.62 takes a long time to cool. last time i was at the range i put 250 rounds through my s12 b4 my 7.62 was cool enough to go in the bag and the s12 cools in less then a minute lol
