incognito485 26
Out of curiousity does the AK 74 "style" brake that Tapco makes work with an AK 74, or as well as the brake made specifically for the the 74? It says that the brake will work will all AK's with the proper thread, which must mean that the brake must be opened up to .30. If so, would the 5.45 be affected in some way by traveling through the brake opened up for a 7.62?
Revolver Ocelot 3
Dont mess around with a tapco. I you have a 5.45 rifle you can just get a real chrome lined bulgarian brake from MarkW in the for sale section.

jwiedy 10
MARKW is the way to go he has great quality parts unless your at you limit for 922r and need a us one, in which case K-var has good quality chrome lined us ones they're a little expensive though.

A tad too expensive. It's the K-var way..............
jwiedy 10
I agree I'd rather by a foreign muzzle brake and swap a $15 gas piston then spend $100 on the exact same muzzle brake with a US stamp on it. K-var is damn expensive but they dont sell crap at least you do get quality for the price.
tStreets 1
+100000 On MarkW on Akfiles.com. I have one of his brakes and all it needed was a wipe down for excess cosmoline and a refinish with rust-o-leum high heat for engines. No point at all to pay Kvar brakes. The cost just isnt at all appealing. I agree I'd rather by a foreign muzzle brake and swap a $15 gas piston then spend $100 on the exact same muzzle brake with a US stamp on it. thebuns1 4,323
or you could go this route. http://soviet-military.com/product/soviet-russian-military-authentic-unissued-soviet-545mm-muzzle-brake-sov-military-47-119 the only downside is that it took me an hour to ge the cosmoline off. SergeK 15
Is there really a difference between the Tapco brake and a real Bulgy? I too am wondering due to 922r.
