tommymn 0
Anybody use their saiga 12 for an all around hunting gun? Talking deer, turkey, duck hunting? Or do most people just use them as a range toy or home defense gun? Just interested in hearing some advice from people who use there 12s for the game side of things. I'm such a newb it's laughable
YOT 3,743
I've taken turkey, rabbit and squirrel with my S12, but use a rifle for deer.
lunker 7
I take mine out for trap once in a while. I bought a 2 round mag for it and plan on going for pheasant in the fall. Throw a polychoke on it or have the barrel threaded for Rem chokes. It's still a shotgun after all, just a super cool one. Edited June 28, 2011 by lunker

As far as threading I do have access to machine shop.

Yea I have some questions about rifled slugs on deer Oh, slugs will work just fine on deer out to about 75 yards. I just prefer to use a rifle. I grew up deer hunting with a shotgun, and still do if the area where I'm hunting is "shotgun only". Before anyone says anything about the 75 yard thing, after that, with slugs you lose accuracy fast. I am a strong believer in making a kill shot, not anything less. Wounding an animal is cruel and wasteful.
kindapointless 22
I use mine for pretty much anything I can think of. Plan on getting a deer this year since I'm real close to a shotgun only area .75 yards I can make but 50 I'm more likely to pull the trigger.
