New SBR Build

Waiting on a approval letter from ATF for a caliber Change, Barrel Length change and overall length change. Started out as 6.8, switched to 300 AAC Blackout.

Spikes Lower, Vltor VIS - 1AK Carbine Upper. Tango Down Forward Grip, I cut the Grip making it a bit shorter, now Its just right, not a stubby, and not extra long. Tango Down Grip, and a Vltor Stock. Tac Light is a Olight M20 Warrior Special Ops 320 Lumens secured to the Rail by a Olight offset Mount.

Once I get my approval Letter I will be getting the 9 inch 300 AAC Barrel. Still deciding on the Bolt.

Pretty sure ATF doesn't give a shit about temporary changes of configuration/caliber. I've never heard of having to wait for approval - just sending in notification when a new permanent change of configuration is made.

Its going to be a permanent change. Not temporary. Examiner said I have to make sure I have the approval letter with the Gun at all time once the change has been made.

Every examiner is different regardless of that last I heard the difference between Temporary and Permanent was the fact that an AR type weapon can change out to any of the common calibers extremely easy and temporary...versus changing the caliber on say a SBR bolt action or other fixed barrel rifle would be MUCH MORE complicated and permanent.

You can make any changes you want without notifying the ATF. They are required to keep the NFA database updated, but nowhere does the law say you're required to notify them of any changes. They request that you do, but it isn't required. Also, if you didn't send two copies of the letter along with a self addressed stamped envelope, you won't be getting a copy back. Even if you did, you could be waiting a year or more.
