nub 0
How to remove the gas tube on a saiga sporting rifle? I know there is a lever, I pulled it to horizontal and even vertical but the gas tube wasn't loose at all. Thanks
jimdigriz 580
Make sure you've removed the bolt carrier. (I've forgot to numerous times myself and felt pretty silly).
RED333 1,025
Make sure you've removed the bolt carrier. (I've forgot to numerous times myself and felt pretty silly). I thought I was the only one that did that, I started to cuss when I left mine in. You have to pull forward and up at the same time, after you lift the leaver.
irishsandman 17
listen to the advice of those above (remove the bolt carrier because the piston lives in the gas tube and the tube won't come out with the piston in it). but also be advised that assuming you have moved the lever up (I usually put mine somewhere between horizontal and all the way up) you have to kind of wiggle/pull up on the gas tube HARD the first time. I was warned ahead of time that the tube is "in there good" from the factory so I didn't mind pulling up really hard to get it to pop out, it worked and the tube comes out much easier every time after that (the release lever pops up easier now, too!) Tram 11
Will a "standard" AK gas-tube just replace this one?
