leadchucker 12
Anybody figure out what to do with all the stuff you take off of your rifles when you do a conversion? I figure the trigger group stuff is pretty useless, but how about stocks, handguards, and gas tubes?
gregomega 929
the hand guard and gas tubes are a good idea to hold on to so you can change your setup every now and again. I always did.
RED333 1,025
What did you convert S7.62, S12, I might be interested in the FCG.
mancat 2,368
Hammer can be reused or kept as spare. Some people claim the factory hammer is unsafe used with a non-matching trigger group. I've run mine for thousands of rounds now, no issues, great trigger pull and break with G2 group. The .223 hammer is unique though, which is why I used it. Furniture can always be reused, but why? Foregrip is about the only usable component on a converted rifle. Buttstock would work but look pretty silly. Oddly enough the gas tube is very similar to an AMD-65 gas tube once the small shroud plate is removed. If you have an AMD-65, now you've got a spare tube. Obviously the magazine can be used or modded depending if you have a bullet guide. That's about all I can really think of.
supersampson12 0
amd-65 is shorter
wpflgun 3
amd-65 is shorter Yes, AMD-65 is shorter. The stock Saiga is the same length as the milspec AK, just not equiped for upper hand guard. I just converted my Saiga .223 with a spare Bulgy AK-47 gas tube.
uzitiger 193
The FCG can be used to build a .22 which I found out lack the skills.
