RobRez 1,895
Looks like my local range is going to be Prime shooting now that we finally have enough snow to keep the lightweights away!! I shoot once or twice a week all year round and I love the range in winter! I usually have the whole place to myself! I recently got a small propane heater to keep the fingers thawed! I wear my insulated coveralls and a good parka and pack boots! Nanook with an AK!! Anyone else play guns in the cold? Any neat warming tricks, besides hot coffee in a thermos? I usually stay warm enough, but all ideas help. On a side note, shooting as much as I do, how many thousands of rounds is a "high" round count, and does it matter anyway? These Saiga's should last me forever right? I can't imagine any of mine have less than 250 rounds going through them every week.(7.62x39 & .308) Edited January 19, 2012 by RobRez
Deadeye 325
shoot fast and the barrel will keep you warm. I also go shooting no matter the weather
TapeWorm3 104
Reminds me of many winters in ND. Why should a little snow stop you from shooting.

jbrubaker 13
Last time out I was using the barrel to heat my hands in between shooting and ended up melting my gloves. *facepalm*
EnzNow 14
I went shooting 2 weekends ago. It was nearly 80 degrees and I was sweating my ass off. The cool wind was great. The down side of AZ is shooting in the summer. We have to invest in pop up shades...but still go out. Just thought I'd make you northern states a little jelous. -EnzNow
timy 1,185
Da, I shoot in the wintertime. It's a private range with lots of wood available so we just build a fire.
