AegisDei 2
Ok, so time to show my complete ignorance about gun laws. I really want to go shooting, but am sick to death of outrageous range fees. Is there anywhere one can safely and legally just go shoot nowadays? Can I just wander into the woods with a cardboard target, check what's downrange, and go crazy if it's a good backstop? Do I have to stay on private property with the owner's permission? Where do people go hunting? Is that all on private land? Any advice on this matter would be most appreciated, thanks!
ice4196 0
In Ohio the Division of Wildlife has ranges throughout the state. It only cost $25 for the year and you go to any range as much as you want.
okie shooter 0
Down here I joined the local gun club, they have a two outdoor ranges(one for rifle and pistol plus a skeet and trap range) look around for a orgnization like that. Its well worth the money knowing its safe to shoot downrange.
hoop762 0
i live in arkansas. the arkansas game and fish commission has a couple public shooting ranges set up. They accomodate rifle, pistol, and skeet. Cheap too. 2 bucks to shoot all day
IndyArms 10,186
I would say that as long as you have absolute permission from the landowner, and use some COMMON SENSE as to which direction, whats behind the shots downrange beyond the backstop, backstop itself... etc..etc... YES... you can shoot legally... we do around HERE all the time...
G O B 3,516
AgeisDei-- It depends on WHERE you are. State and local laws determine where shooting is lagal. (also what you can shoot where) G O B
danny boy 0
Here in West Virginia we have a wonderful thing called coal company property. Vast acres of private property that is pretty much used by anyone for everything. They also sell it real cheap after they're done with it. I bought 15 acres for $6000 a few years ago that was undermined in the 50s and had a capped gas well on it. I was offered another 75 acres that had been select cut for $350/acre but it was mostly hillside. I also joined a real club and PA has free public ranges all over. I have all kinds of places here. NedPepper 0
I hear ya man. I've been working madly at the job here in PA. I've prolly got the last club in the Harrisburg area that lets one "do" but I see the writing on the wall and I'm working hard to relocate to the last populated county in PA. ironhead7544 35
What area of NC do you live? There is a good club in Ramseur called Riverside. I belonged to it when I lived in Greensboro. Are you near there?
