shootinsurveyor 2
Anyone run into a problem with using the CSS bolt on TG with a Hogue grip. I can't get the hole to line up for anything. Completely frustrated and almost done with my conversion until this little thing. Please tell me I am missing something obvious
haugpatr 972
You need to remove some material from the grip, don't remember if it's the front or top or both, you'll figure it out.
D.C.MORRISON 494
did you install the safety lever stop under the front part of the guard?
shootinsurveyor 2
The safety stop is part of the mag release on my gun. I ground some off the grip and it fits much better, but still is loose. I'll stick a washer in there tomorrow, just done messing with it for the night
gpqueen 545
The Hogue's grip screw hole is farther back than normal AK grips. Elongate the grip screw hole on the grip slightly towards the front to line up with any of the AK trigger guards..
woodyp 2
The Hogue's grip screw hole is farther back than normal AK grips. Enlongate the grip screw hole on the grip slightly towards the front to line up with any of the AK trigger guards.. That's great to know since I just ordered that exact setup yesterday! Thanks for the heads up. Woodyp

I bought a standard guard and nut when I bought mine from you so I had no issues, but I prefer your CSS trigger because it's so nice looking. I used it on the .410 my son I converted and he loves it. Now in my case it's in making suggestions. Sorry! Edited February 13, 2012 by liberty -r- death
SgtRaven 531
This is exactly the combo I have, but it went well together. Have you resolved the issue? Do you need close up pictures?
shootinsurveyor 2
Fixed it a couple of days ago. Ground some off the grip where it meets the triggerguard and it fit great. Some times I resort to grinding before I should so I just try to make sure I'm not grinding when it doesn't need to be done.

woodyp 2
In the process of converting now, and yep-------had to elongate the hole towards the front of the Hogue grip too. No problem there. BUT.......also having to grind an 1/8 inch or so off the top of the grip where it meets the receiver so the CSS trigger guard seats fully into the grip. Be forewarned. It's a pain....but I do love that grip and TG.
