Jericho_223 0
Hey all! Looking to do my first conversion soon, and I've been thinking about getting a new hand guard. I've been looking at these three http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/servlet/-strse-1046/CSS-Saiga-Rifle-Forearm/Detail http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/servlet/-strse-1047/SAIGA-RIFLE-FOREARM-HANDGUARD/Detail http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/servlet/-strse-431/SAIGA-RIFLE-QUAD-SGM/Detail I'm looking for a good meeting of price, quality, and something that won't add too much weight. Really not looking to spend more than than $140 plus S&H. Any ideas? Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Mbridge1 1
Nice job, SGT Raven! I've been following your build. I'm partial to the Midwest Ind. forearm that The Grudge used, too.http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/73677-new-to-saigajust-as-new-to-the-ak-platform/
SgtRaven 531
Midwest was another contender in my race. I agree: excellent product. I think it's all about the purpose of our HG: someone could be happy with no-thrills Century's Bulgie surplus kit rifle; for other loaded Samson or MI is not enough. That seems like a really nice handguard! The only thing I know i want is a VFG, and probably a sling swivel, but I like having the option to mount something else later. The Grudge 3
I can vouch for the MWI extended hard guard. It fits pretty damn nice and is solid. It isn't made for the Saiga so there is a tad bit of gap between the receiver and the guard, but isn't noticeable to my eyes. My only complaint (sorta) is that the OD green doesn't match in color to my Houge grip and Magpul CTR stalk. That's minor details in the grand scheme, but it could be improved upon if you're going for a color.
SgtRaven 531
Eh, it's AK after all: roll it in dirt and colors will match. It might even shoot better that way, lol! On a serious note, despite all, it's nice to see AK acessories market growing and maturing. In "good ole days", you chop your pistol grip out of 2x4; now you have a "cadillacs" from Hogue and Co. Good job! Edited February 22, 2012 by Sgt. Raven

Has anyone tried one on the S-223?
