922r... Where do I stand?

Recommended Posts

Here is what I have done to my 7.62x39 Saiga

1- Tapco stock

2- Pistol grip

3-bullet guide installed

4- 30 round AK mags

5- Tapco handguard

Where do I stand as far as 922r compliance? I honestly don't feel like doing any further modifications if I don't have to, yet I don't want to be out of line.

Help!!!!!!!! I looked at the compliance chart, but I am a bit confused

The mag counts as 3 and each furniture peice counts as one. So you are legal from what I can see.

... If the mags are US made.

As I see it:

1. The bullet guide is not considered (not on the list)

2. The pistol grip is not considered (not being "replaced", the Saiga had none)

On the Jobson auto check list, click on Saiga rifle, then click on the "Origin" drop down menus only. You'll see the count number decrease from 14 to whatever you have to meet 922r. You need 10 maximum to meet 922r.

Unless you are using US mags, you still have 13 foreign parts.

The US mags bring it down to 10 foreign parts, and therefore 922r legal.

US trigger group (3 parts) ?

US furniture (3 parts), BTW both handguards count as only 1, Pistol grip = 1, Buttstock = 1

US made furniture really helps with the parts count.

Sounds like your GTG.

I believe that Auto Checklist is linked in Wikipedia concerning "922R".

Good luck.

With foriegn mags he has 12 parts, 9 parts with US mags. He has both a US made stock & handguard.
