Now I need to mod or make feed ramp? Know it's probably a common question, how? Thanks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> for some good intructions on how to make a feed ramp, check this out http://www.cross-conn.com/Saiga_Conversion/step_8.htm ...or, if you dont want to mess with making one, i think ive got a spare around here somewhere. might require some minor fitting but for the most part its ready to go. If you want one, its yours free of charge. If you want to venture it on your own its not difficult at all. Just follow the steps in the link above and you'll be in business. let me know if you want one HOOP
hoop762 0
SHAME ON ME for not mentioning this earlier!!! If you go ahead with the mods to use hi capacity magazine, you must make your rifle 922 compliant....that is, you must replace foreign parts with US made parts. The best and most common way to do this is the pistol grip conversion. The link i provided in my last post is an incredible source of information for doing the pistol grip conversion. Just start at step 1 and work your way through. Just so we are clear, if the only mods you make to your rifle are a feed ramp so you can use hi cap mags, your rifle is NOT LEGAL. The law is that you must swap out at least 4 parts from the infamous *LIST* given to use by the BATF. Most people find it best to replace the fire control group (trigger, hammer, disconnector) 3 parts, and the buttstock, 1 part, with US made components. Then, as long as you use a US mage pistol grip, you'll be in business. If you want a good place you can get all the required parts for a pistol grip conversion, check out midwestarmory.com. I got all my conversion parts there. They are good guys and have some of the best prices around. for my conversion, i ordered a G2 fire control group, SAW pistol grip, and 6 position adjustable stock. Got em all shipped for about 100 bucks. You can check out pics of my x39 in the photo gallery to see if you like the looks. At first glance the PG conversion may seem a little scary, but i asure you, it is not!. just follow the steps at www.cross-conn.com/Saiga_Conversion/ andyou wont have any problems. If you do happen to run in to any snags, there are a lot of guys here that have done these conversions many times and are more than willing to lend a hand in any way they can. GOOD LUCK!! uzitiger 193
You can also use the magazines made by ProMag in the US. The US made magazines will give you three USC 922 compliant parts; magazine body, floor plate and follower. ProMag magazines have always worked flawlessly for me in other guns. We can keep the dollars in this country.
SaigaShooter 0
You would then need one other part, be it a FCG part (hammer most likely) or the gas piston, those are fairly easy to do.

hoop762 0
would these work? http://www.k-var.com/product.asp?0=216&1=226&3=207 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have never personally used one of the kvar feed ramps. I have heard from other members that they do not fit without some substantial modification (grinding until it fits just right). And if your gonna do all that, its quite cheaper to make one yourself. jtoddellis 2
would these work? http://www.k-var.com/product.asp?0=216&1=226&3=207 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I used that ramp, but it took too much modification. It would be easier to make yours from pipe like in the sheeks conversion. The next one I do I will make from pipe.
