kalashnik 1
I want to thread the barrels of my 7.62 and .223. I cut the shrouds off and unfortunately the 7.62 is not threaded. I want 14mx1 LH threads. Can I use a standard die to thread the barrel. I have die sets already. can i use the standard die "up side down" where it cuts it LH. or do i have to buy a new die? Thanks. RED333 1,025
It wont cut LH, It will mess up the die, break off points of the die. Just buy the right die. Edited March 27, 2012 by RED333

PM me if you want to buy/rent it from me.

G O B 3,516
A die cuts one way. Turn it around and it still cuts the same way. The back side of the die is used to finish a thread so the part screwing on will screw on flush and not show partial threads. BUT a right hand die cuts right from both sides, and a left hand die left from both sides.
