devildogdakota 804
"I'd rather be judged by twelve than carried out by six". Life or death situation, I would gladly give axcess to my gun to an untrained loved one, rather than take the chance of having a would be assailant kill them. I have # 4 buckshot at the ready in my bedroom in two shotguns that won't kill anyone outside my home, but probably will the robber(s). Of course, everyone I know here in Montana knows how to use a firearm, especially loved ones. I usually don't converse with anyone who's anti-gun.
preparehandbook 326
I agree with the: "I usually don't converse with anyone who's anti-gun." I used to have family who was antigun, but they work for the state of California and the mandatory SHTF meetings scared them into getting firearms, body armor and training. WhiskeyMinion 300
I would, it's a rock and a hard place. But considering my 7 year old nephew knew exactly how to load and rack my HiPower. (Kid's never even touched a BB gun before) I'd say Hollywood/Video Games have taught 75% of Americans the basics of operation. Disclamer; No bullets near the gun and his father and I were supervising.

Arik 565
Depending on who the family member is. If its someone who doesnt know where the trigger is or which way to point the gun, NO. If its someone like my dad or sister who have shot before, know how a gun functions, but just are not into guns then yes.
