A|G 0
So I'd like to put an AK style front sight on my Saiga 12. Krebs, Rusmilitary, and XS are a few options. Opinions or experiences? Did any require excessive modification? Did any of them dissappoint? I'd like to find the highest quality sight possible. Thanks in advance, A|G
shooter2 5
So I'd like to put an AK style front sight on my Saiga 12.Krebs, Rusmilitary, and XS are a few options. Opinions or experiences? Did any require excessive modification? Did any of them dissappoint? Remember, XS supplies only front sight posts, so you'd still need either the Krebs (AR-15 style) or Russian (AK style) tower. I have the Russian bolt-on front sight tower and it has worked fine. Cobra 76 two 2,677
I recall hearing some describe the Krebs as being too high and they had to cut the sight post down a little. Anyone out there have a Krebs front sight they could measure for me? Center of bore to top of sight wings if you can. I have custom rear sight that is higher and I could use a little bit extra. topmaul don't you have one of those Krebs sights?
A|G 0
shooter2- Thanks for pointing that out about the XS sight post. Did you get your front sight from Rusmilitary? The reason I ask, is that I have an order pending with them, and I was wondering if I should tag one on. cobra 76- Can you tell me anything about the quality of the Krebs stuff? $90 for a sight specifically made for one gun, but requires modification. Seems a little out of line. But I'd pay it, if there stuff is that good. Thanks for the input and please keep it coming! A|G
Cobra 76 two 2,677
I have not really seen one up close exept maybe topmaul's but that was at a three gun match and a lot was going on. I have heard they are made of quality steel though. The ones from Rusmilitary are steel but they are kind of crappy looking like pot metal or something. At least they are the right height for factory rear sights though. You may want to try looking through the gallery and old posts with pics of shotties and contact the guys who have them to ask what they think of them.
shooter2 5
shooter2-Thanks for pointing that out about the XS sight post. Did you get your front sight from Rusmilitary? Yes and no; I got mine from Randy @ Blackjack, who got them from Rusmilitary. He had a half-dozen or so sets for sale on this board some time ago; I was lucky enough to snag one. detpat 0
i have a krebs [mine's aluminum] and i really like very much. it does however come with a replacement rear sight, a circular aperture model to fit the dovetail, damn that saiga rear sight is hard to remove. pat

McUZI 1
People love those shitty little rails. I think a neat option would be a compression fit clamp on base that went over the barrel and had a pic rail on it. It would allow the users to install detachable AR sights like flip ups and what not. This one would clamp over the end of the barrel and act as a front sight base.

topmaul 42
I have the Krebs on mine and it takes a little getting used to but it is very good quality. And mine is steel. I'm not sure it's worth the money. you might be better off with the Russian one from Oleg, or getting a Kobra or sometype of optic. I also put a KNS front sit into mine, it only cost a few bucks and I'm going to get one for my AR. http://www.oa2.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3007 Check it out my shotgun site picture looks like an anti-aircraft gun. Using the Krebs/KNS in our local tactical shotgun matches has allowed me to move from a sad 18th place to 2nd in the space of a month. Good luck with what ever you decide to do. AKATTACK 5
Got both of my front sights from Oleg at FSU. Took about 25 days to get them if I remember correctly, but I'm very satisfied with them. Here's a pic of the sights. A|G 0
Again, Thanks to everyone for the ideas. AKATTACK, that B&T clamp looks like it might be a nice option. Question for you guys who have the Krebs or Rusmilitary front sight; am I correct in assuming that niether of them allow installation of a tritium vail? A|G

The Krebs sight tower takes an AR-style front post, so you can use Meprolight, Trijicon, XS or whoever your favorite maker is. The Russian sight tower takes an AK-style front post, and XS offers a tritium-enhanced model to fit it.
