lewie212 37
I am on my second bolt carrier. My first one developed a hair line crack. Is there any precautions I can take to help prevent it from happening again?
Shandlanos 1,470
Have your gas system tuned by a professional, and if it doesn't cause reliability problems, install a bolt buffer.
Deadeye 325
mine has a couple cracks too after i fix it i am getting a autoplug
corbin 621
I agree with what Shandlanos and Deadeye said. If your system tolerates a buffer, it should help minimize impact to your carrier (and rear trunnion). I have one on my S12. I'm also running an autoplug right now, and so far it's working very well with everything I've put through it (no 3" though).
TORKIT 20
CRACK KILLS couldn't resist.
lewie212 37
CRACK KILLS couldn't resist Lol. replacing that carrier was a major pain in the ass. I would hate to have to go through the hassle again. I will install a buffer for sure. The gas system is completely stock with three holes from the factory. I run it on setting one and shoot 95 percent target bird shot. Maybe the original carrier was defective. It is a 2009 model. Edited July 22, 2012 by lewie212
